    Free Hugs!

I bet you, if everyone got enough hugs, coffee and java nut cookies... the world would be a great place!

    Das Leben

Watched "Das Leben die Anderen" at Fifth Avenue Cinema this weekend, fabulous movie, shows Big-Brother-Watching you in total paranoia without the inhuman alienation of George Orwell's rendition. Heart breaking and horrific to think it was true.

Also bought, by accident, a CD I rather like: City and Colour - thinking it was by LIVE . I love the unexpected!

    Myths in the Making

    Same beach the waves
    that wash the sand
    from different shore
The eagle that now freely flies
has no memory of the past
    of seals above the water
    of shells catching the light

I threaded the beads on my necklace one by one
and loved their colours, loved their colours
loved how they would light shine and glow
gently around my neck barely touching
    can you see them?
On my night stand but still touching, barely touching

    Feel it enclose my neck
    and see the eyes
    of love? of hate?
    my myth to make

If I ever find truth I'm gonna let you know
If I ever find faith I'm gonna sit in every bit of its afterglow
If I ever find a way to bring love here today
You better bet your life that this is what I'll say
Give it if you've got it
    Get it if you don't

Take my hand in the meantime
And let's walk into the sunshine
Everybody got something that they want to sing about, laugh about, cry about
    It's true
    For me it's you

    LoTR

Jens tells me he has been beta-testing the new Lord of the Rings mpog and that he will bring it on Tuesday and show me!!!!

I can't wait - a game that combines my favourite story world with online game play. Just what I need, another addiction waiting in the wings! :-)

Kids and I often watch the movie, and recently we started at the beginning again, watching the rolling hills, round houses and gentle flowers, as Gandalf enters the Shire.

Sam: If I take one more step, it'll be the farthest away from home I've ever been.
Frodo: Come on, Sam. Remember what Bilbo used to say: "It's a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don't keep your feet, there's no knowing where you might be swept off to."

It is dangerous business, because you never really leave the road behind you, it is there if you just turn your head. Roger says the scars are there, but not to blame the bunch for the apple. Can't help but be scared.

Lord, what do you want from me.

Jacob Kahn "I sculpt and paint to give permanence to my feelings about how terrible this world truly is. Nothing is real to me except my own feelings; nothing is true except my own feelings as I seem them all around me in my sculptures and paintings. I know these feelings are true, because if they are not true they would make art that is as terrible as the world."
-- "My name is Asher Lev", Chaim Potok

Frodo: I know what you would say, and it would seem like wisdom, but for the warning in my heart.

Doesn't get any better than this...

We spent most of Saturday on Cypress, blue sky overhead, white snow under skis and board, no line-ups for the lift... Skied with coat open and arms wide, sun warming my cheeks and the easy rythm soothing my body.

Dinner with setting sun at Saltaire's, and "Spike and Mike's sick and twisted festival of animation" to round it off.

Jeanne, my friend, please take care of yourself! Glad you enjoyed the music.

And today - rehearal of the touring choir; we're sounding pretty good! (Gerry, thanks for the call, so sweet). And now off to be fed by my friend Dav, and I'm sure a game of Stratego or Chess after.

Can't get much better than this, can it!

Oh yes. And the SAN didn't die during fiscal year-end. Not yet, at least.
