    Cold Calling

So yesterday Caelan and I went to the "Re-elect Don Bell" Liberal campaign office in North Vancouver. Besides picking up a bunch of swag for Caelan's school project (they're covering the elections) I volunteered.

"Hello, my name is Henriette, and I'm calling from the re-elect Don Bell campaign, our member of parliament. We would like to know if Don can count on your support for this election"

Most people are friendly. Some are rude.

I sold two lawn signs :-)

    Strategic voting

This website "voteforenvironment.ca" was discussed on the CBC as a source of information for strategic voting.

I'm not sure I can vote FOR anyone. But I definitely know who I'm NOT voting for. I cannot vote for a party that believes in revenge for crime, even if that causes more crime. I cannot vote for a party that believes in Old Testament posting the names of the evil-doers on the town square so they have to leave town.
I cannot vote for a party that believes our first priority is ourselves. I cannot vote for a party that believes our economy is a separate thing from us, and a separate thing from the environment.
I cannot vote for a party that believes a single person takes a better decision than a group of people.

I'm voting for whoever has a chance of winning and doesn't have a blue banner.
