    Pretty pictures!

I love this new thing that the folks at blogger have released - a real-time view of pictures uploaded to blogger. I am amazing and in awe of the beauty of some of the pictures.

Now it will be only a matter of time before some AI starts analyzing the picture stream and detect trends...

And to continue the geek-rave, Tyler and I have been absolutely obsessed with playing Elebits (lvl 21 here we come), hearing the little "wee" sounds in real life when of course we know that there's no-one in the house except us and our friendly house-ghost.

    Do you believe in ghosts?

Love is all I need :-)

Pure, undiluted, no holds barred, no hidden trapdoors or guilted mirror frames.
I do not like them in a box.
I do not like them with a fox.
I do not like them in a house.
I do not like them with a mouse.
I do not like them here or there.
I do not like them anywhere.
I do not like green eggs and ham.
I do not like them, Sam-I-am.
-- Dr Seuss, "Green eggs with Ham"
    read by Jesse Jackson
My eggs are sunny-side up. My tea is always half-full. I count my blessings every day.

What a thought, that if you stick your hand in and hurt yourself, it isn't my fault because there's something sharp there. What a thought that, even if you could absolve yourself, blaming someone else makes you look bad, and you won't.
What a blessed life I have.

"Someone should tell him your name is not Henrietta, funny how it seems he doesn't know"

CBC quirks and quarks program mentioned how our bodies consist of more bacterial cells than our own cells, and questions who really makes the decisions. Scientists investigating decision making say they see the neurological activity for the action before they see the neuro-pattern for the decision.

    Taming of the Tools

Ok so this is a socket wrench. And the weapon that's wieled in Bioshock is a pipe wrench.

    Learn something every day.

Girls nowadays have to know their tools!

Awesome game, Bioshock... having always been partial to Art Deco, I so enjoy a game set in the Chrysler building!

    Casualties of Life

"In war, truth is the first casualty"
    -- Aeschylus

The old lady no longer leaves her house, when she sees the icy crunch of snow on the ground. Having fallen seriously once, she no longer trusts her body to keep its balance on the snow in her street, compacted by many feet into treacherous pits and bumps that may twist a foot or turn a knee. Oh, the embarrassment of lying on the cold snow and having to rely on others to help her back up. She knows better than to put herself into that position again. Much better to wait for the pavement to be clear and the footholds sure.

The old gentleman squints at the coins he received in change, questioning their quantity and quality. "Can't be too trusting", he says sideways to me, the next person in the queue. "You snooze you lose, better safe than sorry!" as he stuffs the coins with the old Kleenex and a single screw into his faded jeans pocket.
